Dear Friend,
The Hilton Head Island Friends of the Library (FOL) was started fifty years ago when a group of like minded people understood the value of having a great library in our community. Many changes have occurred in those years, including at least three moves, a population boom and lastly dealing with a pandemic. The FOL bookstore has been open now for a little over a year and there have been a lot of changes there also. Store operations have moved to the lobby, allowing more space for patrons to browse. We are now selling rare and valuable books online so you can shop from the comfort of your home. In addition to the bookstore changes we've made a significant effort to improve communications and marketing. We're communicating using Facebook and email blasts to keep you up to date with news and events. A new website posts news and events, and offers the ability to renew your membership, volunteer or make donations online. We have come a long way since our formation in 1971.
Despite all these changes our mission is still the same: To support our local library. These are just some of the things that your membership fees and donations pay for:
Every time you pay your membership, donate books or money, or buy a book in our shop or online you help us support the library. The money we receive is used directly for the library. The more members we have, the easier it will be to fulfill our mission. Libraries are important and we have a great one.
Find us on Facebook at Hilton Head Friends of the Library. Like and follow our page to stay updated on events and what's happening at our shop. You can make a donation safely from our Facebook page or from this website. Alternatively, you can mail your check to:

Sincerely,
